Quantity Surveyor job desc:
- Managing all aspect of the contractual and financial side of construction project (managing the cost on a construction project
- To ensure that the construction project is completed within it's project budget
- The task quantity surveyors complete will differ according to whether they are working on design or construction stage of a project and therefore whether they are working for a consultancy which focuses on design stage or the contractor who build the projects
- Depending on stage of the project and their employer, they might:
- Price/Forecast the cost of the different materials needed for the project
- Prepare tender documents, contract, budget, bills of quantities and other documentations
- Track changes to the design and or construction work and adjusting budget budget projection accordingly
- Proceed the service of contractor who work on the construction project
- Measure and value the work done on site
- Pay subcontractor
- Liaise with the client and other construction professional, such as site manager, project manager, and site engineer
- Select construction materials
- Reporting
